Egon Zakrajšek is an Executive Vice President and the Director of the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. His research interests focus on macro-finance, banking, inflation dynamics, and monetary policy. His research has been published in a variety of academic journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics. Previously, Zakrajšek was a senior advisor in the Monetary and Economic Department of the Bank for International Settlements. He began his career in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and later joined the division of Monetary Affairs at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He holds a PhD in economics from New York University.
