Alireza Naghavi

Assistant Professor of Economics, University of Bologna

Alireza Naghavi is an Assistant Professor of International Economics at the University of Bologna, Italy. He holds a Ph.D. from University College Dublin and has completed a CEPR post-doc fellowship at Paris School of Economics. He has been an Adjunct Professor at John Hopkins University and Visiting Professor at Universities in Norway, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, and France.

His research interests focus on international trade and institutions including intellectual property rights, offshoring and migration. His recent research also include topics on political economy, religion, and development. He was the global scientific coordinator of the European Commission’s FP7 project INGINEUS (Impact of Networks, Globalisation, and their INteraction with EU strategies) from 2009 to 2012. He has also been working as a Consultant since at the World Intellectual Property Organization.
