Bob Carbaugh

Professor of Economics and Department Chair, Central Washington University

Bob Carbaugh is currently a Professor of Economics and Department Chair at Central Washington University. He has been lauded with top teaching awards, including the 1984 Excellence in Teaching award from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the Distinguished Professor of the University-Teaching award from Central Washington University in 1993. In 2001, he received the Distinguished Professor of the University award for research at Central Washington University. In 2004, he was invited by the Directors of the Oxford Round Table to present a lecture, "Trade and Environmental Frictions in the Global Steel Industry," at Oxford University in England.

With a doctorate in economics from Colorado State University in 1974, Carbaugh specialises in economic theory and international economics. Carbaugh has published research in such journals as World Economics, Cato Journal, Challenge, World Competition: Law and Economic Review, International Trade Journal, and Business Economics. Carbaugh is also well known for his distinguished textbooks: International Economics (South-Western/Cengage Learning), now in its 12th edition; and Contemporary Economics (M. E. Sharpe), now in its 5th edition.
