Jon Samuels

Jon Samuels is a Research Economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), and an Associate at the Institute of Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) at Harvard University. Samuels received a BA in economics from the University of Chicago in 1996, an MA in economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2009, and a PhD in economics from Johns Hopkins University in 2012.

Samuels’ research focuses on economic technology and the sources of growth. Previously, Samuels worked as a Researcher for the Program on Technology and Economic Policy directed by Dale Jorgenson within Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and was a Junior Economist in economic forecasting for Primark Decision Economics.
