Lawrence Kahn

Professor of Labor Economics and Collective Bargaining at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations

Lawrence M. Kahn is Professor of Labor Economics and Collective Bargaining at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, a Research Fellow of the Center for Economic Studies/Ifo Institute for Economic Research in Munich, Germany, and a Research Fellow of IZA in Bonn, Germany. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and his BS in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

He is a Fellow of the Society of Labor Economists, is Associate Editor of the Industrial & Labor Relations Review and Specialized Co-Editor (Sports Economics) of Economic Inquiry. He has also served as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Women's Employment and Related Social Issues. His research interests include international differences in labour market institutions and labour market outcomes such as wage inequality, unemployment, and the gender pay gap. In addition, he has had a long term interest in sports labour markets and is currently also conducting research on immigration and the labour market.
