Lee Ohanian

Professor of Economics, and Director of the Ettinger Family Program in Macroeconomic Research at UCLA

Lee E. Ohanian is Professor of Economics, and Director of the Ettinger Family Program in Macroeconomic Research at UCLA. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Rochester in 1993, and received a B.A. in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1979. He is an Adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, and previously has advised other Federal Reserve Banks, foreign central banks, and the National Science Foundation. He is a Research Associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research, and Co-directs the NBER research group "Macroeconomics Across Time and Space." His research interests are in macroeconomics and international economics. He has lectured and published widely in the areas of economic crises, particularly the Great Depression. He previously served on the faculties of the Universities of Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
