Martin Watzinger

Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, LMU Munich

Martin Watzinger is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics at LMU Munich. His research focuses on the economics of innovation. He has worked on topics such as how venture capital-financed start-ups can influence the innovation potential of an economy, how universities can attract the best scientists or if the quality of the legal environment influences companies’ R&D investment. He has also an interest in empirical macroeconomics where he worked on measuring the effectiveness of fiscal stimulus in times of crisis.

Martin was a visiting fellow at Stanford University (2011/12) and Harvard University (2014). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from LMU Munich in May 2012
