Anne Gielen

Associate Professor of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Research Fellow, IZA

Anne C. Gielen is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is also affiliated to the Tinbergen Institute, the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) and Netspar. Previously, she was a Senior Research Associate at IZA and held visiting positions at the University of Sydney and at the University of Essex. She received her Ph.D. from Tilburg University in 2008.

Anne’s research interests are in labour economics, health economics and applied microeconomics, including (but not restricted to) topics such as social security benefit substitution, intergenerational effects in welfare use and spillover effects of government policy. Her articles have appeared in The Journal of Human Resources, and the American Economic Journal – Economic Policy.
