Alejandro Rivera

Assistant Professor of Finance, University of Texas at Dallas

Alejandro Rivera, Assistant Professor of Finance, earned a PhD in Economics at Boston University in 2015. Previously, he obtained an International Baccalaureate at Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific and graduated First Class Honors in Mathematics and Economics at Simon Fraser University in 2008.

Alejandro is a corporate finance theorist focused on the study of recursive contracts, dynamic liquidity management, and financial decision making under uncertainty. The second chapter of his dissertation entitled “Robust Contracts in Continuous Time” was published in Econometrica. He also has various working papers currently under review. He is also passionate about teaching his students about macroeconomics, financial institutions, and mathematical economics. In his spare time he enjoys doing yoga and running on the Katy trail.
