Arindrajit Dube

Associate Professor of Economics, University of Massachusetts Amherst

Arindrajit Dube is Associate Professor of Economics at University of Massachusetts Amherst. He received his B.A. in Economics and M.A. in Development Policy from Stanford University, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. He is currently a research associate at NBER and research fellow at IZA. Dube’s work focuses on labor economics, along with health economics, public finance, and political economy. Some of his current areas of research include minimum wage effects on employment and inequality, the role of fairness concerns at the workplace,  the nature and extent of competition in the labor market, the interplay between behavioral biases and labor market competition, impact of fiscal policy, and the role of firm wage policies in explaining the growth in inequality. He has also conducted research on employer health mandates, unions and collective  bargaining, outsourcing and sub-contracting, gun laws and violence, and the capitalization of private information in stock prices.
