Biliana Yontcheva is Assistant Professor for Industrial Economics and Competition Policy at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (University of Düsseldorf). She holds a PhD in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Her research agenda focuses on the empirical evaluation of competition policy and regulation. She has published work on the impact of consumer information on price dispersion and cost pass-through, vertical integration, deregulation of healthcare markets and optimal market delineation. In ongoing research, she investigates the welfare effects of entry and ownership regulation, as well as the connection between income inequality and product variety.
