Carlos Garriga

Research Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis

Carlos Garriga is a Research Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank in 2007, he was faculty at the Department of Economics at Florida State University and at the Universitat de Barcelona. He has been a Visiting Professor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and the Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota. He has given lectures at Washington University in St. Louis, Abat Oliba CEU University, the Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED).

His current research is in the intersection of macroeconomics, housing markets and housing finance. He has also worked in public economics, taxation, and intergenerational redistribution.He has published articles in the Journal of Monetary Economics, International Economic Review, Review of Economic Dynamics, European Economic Review, Journal of European Economic Association, Economic Letters, Economic Modeling, and chapters in books published by Chicago University Press and MIT Press.

His research has received the financial support of the National Science Foundation (NSF), Ministerio de Educacion y CIencia (Spain), and Generalitat de Catalunya (Spain). He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control. He received his B.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the Universitat de Barcelona.
