Caterina Calsamiglia

Research Professor, CEMFI; Affiliated Professor, Barcelona GSE

Caterina Calsamiglia is a Research Professor at CEMFI and an Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona GSE (on leave). She is also a member of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Group (HCEO). In 2005 she got her PhD from the Department of Economics at Yale University. She received an ERC Starting Grant between 2015-20. Her research focuses on public economics and in education in particular, covering issues such as the equality of opportunity for policy design, the effect of different forms of affirmative action, and the design of school choice on the performance and segregation of the school system, and the impact of non-cognitive skills on educational and labour market outcomes.
