Chris Young

Head of the Structural Economics Division, Bank of England

Chris Young is Head of the Structural Economics Division at the Bank of England. His work focuses on understanding the key structural changes taking place in the economy, their underlying drivers, and implications for the UK macroeconomy. Chris has held a number of positions at the Bank since joining in 1996, including in macro-financial analysis, market intelligence and global analysis, and also worked as private secretary to Charlie Bean during his time as the Bank of England’s Chief Economist. Chris’s research interests are in macroeconomics, macro-finance and monetary policy transmission, including quantitative easing.
