Dan Ben-David

Professor at the Department of Public Policy, Tel-Aviv University and CEPR Research Fellow

Dan Ben-David received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago. He teaches economics in the Department of Public Policy at Tel-Aviv University and is a Research Fellow in the CEPR. Ben-David’s areas of specialization include economic growth and international trade. His research has explored the link between trade, growth and convergence as well as provided a long-run perspective of Israel’s economy. The most recent research has focused on academic migration and brain drain issues. Ben-David has also been active in the economic policy realm, having consulted for the World Bank and the World Trade Organization and advised Israel’s three most recent prime ministers, cabinet ministers and Members of Knesset, among others. Ben-David has an oped column on the editorial page of the Ha’aretz Hebrew and English daily newspapers and received the Tel-Aviv University provost’s “Best Teacher Award” in Social Sciences.
