David Clayton

David Clayton researches the take up of new technologies (such as radio broadcasting and systems to supply clean water) and 'good' institutions, including legal regimes governing international trade. He draws case evidence from across the British empire, with a particular focus on Hong Kong. (PhD Manchester, 1994; currently, senior lecturer, History, University of York.)
