Enes Sunel is an Economic Consultant at Sunel & Sunel Law Firm. Previously he was an Economist at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey and an Economic Counselor at the Turkish Embassy in Washington D.C. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland. His main fields of interest are monetary economics and international finance. His main contributions to the literature include models of heterogeneous agents in small open economies; optimal monetary policy in emerging markets; theoretical treatment of macroprudential policy tools; interaction of inflation credibility and sovereign default risk; and quantitative investigation of sovereign default risk in relation to political risk. His work is published in international journals including Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking and B.E. Journal of Macroeconomics.
