Fariha Kamal

Senior Research Economist, US Census Bureau

Fariha Kamal is a Senior Research Economist at the Center for Economic Studies at the U.S. Census Bureau. Her research interests are in the areas of international trade, development, and economic geography. Her current work focuses on buyer-seller relationships in international trade, the role of institutions in determining trade patterns, and the impact of globalization on firm behavior. She previously served in an advisory role to the Chief Economist of the U.S. Department of Commerce. She received her B.A. at Mount Holyoke College and MBA at Clark University. She holds a PhD in Economics from Syracuse University.
