Federico Boffa

Professor of Economics, Free University of Bolzano

Federico Boffa is a Professor of Economics at the Free University of Bolzano. He is also a Non-Resident Scholar at Collegio Carlo Alberto. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Northwestern University, and his B.A. from the University of Torino. 

His research interests lie at the intersection between Industrial Organization and Political Economics, with a particular emphasis on energy and transport economics, and on the impact of the form of government on quality of government, accountability and economic outcomes. 

His recent work studies the welfare effects of the transition to fleets in urban transport and the impact of the quality of local government on the success of populist parties.
