Francesco Franzoni

Senior Chair, Swiss Finance Institute; Professor of Finance, USI Lugano

Francesco Franzoni is senior chair with the Swiss Finance Institute and Professor of Finance at USI Lugano. He is also a CEPR fellow. He has several publications in top academic journals in Finance (e.g. Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Journal of Financial Economics). His research has also been featured in the financial press, including the Financial Times, WSJ, Bloomberg, and the Economist. His general research interests are in asset pricing, with a focus on institutional investors such as hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds, and ETFs, with an emphasis on the impact of institutional investors on asset prices. Francesco’s work has been presented at leading academic conferences as well as at regulators, including the SEC, FINRA, FCA, Bank of England, European Central Bank, Bank for International Settlements. He has several years of teaching experience, including at the executive level. Before joining USI Lugano, he was on the finance faculty at HEC Paris. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2002).
