Gabriel Ahlfeldt

Gabriel Ahlfeldt is Professor of Urban Economics and Land Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he directs the MSc Real Estate Economics and Finance.  He is also editor of Regional Science and Urban Economics

Ahlfeldt is an Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP), and the Spatial Economics Research Centre (SERC), a CESIfo Research Fellow, and a lecturer at TU-Berlin. His research concentrates on the effect of large transport projects and architectural developments on local house prices, local political preferences and urban structure. He is also interested in how various agglomeration forces shape the spatial concentration of economic activity. His publications have appeared in such academic journals as Econometrica, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Journal, Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Economic Geography, among others.
