Gianmarco León is and assistant professor of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and an associate researcher at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. His research focuses on political economics in developing countries and more broadly on development economics. Current research projects includes studying incentives to vote and their consequences on preference aggregation, analyzing recruitment and incentive structures to improve performance in different layers of the public sector. Some of his previous research focuses on understanding the persistence of civil conflict on human capital accumulation and measuring the Value of Statistical Life in the developing world.
