Graziella Bertocchi

Graziella Bertocchi is Professor of Economics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy and President of the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF), Italy. She is founder and Director of RECent (Center for Economic Research) and Research Fellow of CEPR, CHILD, DGI, Dondena, GLO, and IZA. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been an Assistant Professor at Brown University and has held visiting positions at the University of Oslo, European University Institute, New York University, the Catholic University of Louvain and IGIER-Bocconi. Bertocchi's recent research has focused on macroeconomics, political economy, comparative development, and the interaction between economic growth and institutions in a historical perspective. She has written contributions on the legacies of slavery, the extension of the voting franchise, estate taxation, and the determinants of gender gaps, migration and citizenship policies.
