Julia Schmieder

PhD candidate, DIW & Free University of Berlin

Julia Schmieder is a PhD candidate at the Free University of Berlin under the supervision of Peter Haan and Andrea Weber. She is affiliated with the DIW Berlin, WU Vienna, and IZA Bonn. Julia studied Economics at the University of Mannheim and at University College London. She gained experience as a junior researcher at the University of Mannheim and as a research assistant at the Center for European Economic Research and the IFS in London. Her research is in Applied Microeconometrics, with an emphasis on Labor Economics, Economics of Migration, and Gender Economics.
