Karen Macours

Professor, Paris School of Economics and CEPR Research Affiliate

Karen Macours is a professor at the Paris School of Economics and researcher at INRA. Her current research focuses on conditional cash transfer programs, early childhood development, rural poverty, and agriculture. Macours earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

She previously was Associate Professor of International Economics at SAIS - Johns Hopkins University, and also was a core team member of the World Development Report 2008 : Agriculture for Development. She is an Affiliate of CEPR and of JPAL Europe, and a member of EUDN. She received her PhD in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
