Kentaro Murayama is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Economics at American University. He holds an Bachelor's degree in Economics from Washington College, Maryland and a Master’s degree in Economics from American University. He is currently working on evaluating the impacts of discretionary trade policies on food price dynamics. He interned at the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) in Tokyo during the summer of 2014, working on the project “How Inclusive is Abenomics?” His research interests include rural poverty, food security, and trade reforms.
