Kevin Lansing

Kevin J. Lansing is a Research Advisor in the Economic Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Kevin joined FRBSF in 1998 after spending two years at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University as a National Fellow and a Visiting Scholar. Prior to that, he served as an Economist in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. From 2011 to 2013, he served as a visiting senior economist in the Monetary Policy Research Department of Norges Bank. He has published articles in a wide range of academic journals and taught economics as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. His recent research focuses on models of expectations applied to housing, stock markets, inflation, and exchange rates. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Society for Nonlinear Dynamics and Econometrics. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.B.A. in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is also Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
