Laura Panza

Senior Research Fellow, Department of Economics, University of Melbourne

Laura Panza is a senior research fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Melbourne. She has a PhD in economics from La Trobe University (Melbourne) and  Master in Cooperation and Development from the University Institute of Superior Studies, Pavia. Her research interests cover economic history and applied microeconomics topic, with a special focus on the economies of the Near East in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.  She has recently published (with Eik Swee) “Good geography, good institutions? Historical evidence from nineteenth-century British colonies”, in the European Economic Review (2016).
