Mark Taylor

Mark P. Taylor is Dean of the Olin Business School at Washington University in St Louis, USA, where is also the Donald Danforth Jr Distinguished Professor of Finance. He has been a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research since 1987 and is also a Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institution in Washington DC. A leading international authority on exchange rates and international finance, Professor Taylor has published extensively in many of the world’s leading finance and economics journals and is one of the most highly cited financial economists in the world. He has also held a number of senior leadership positions in both the financial sector and at universities in Europe and the US. Before joining Washington University in 2016, Mark Taylor was Dean and Professor of Finance at Warwick Business School at Warwick University in the UK. He has also held professorial positions at Bayes Business School, London and at Oxford University, as well as visiting professorial positions at New York University, the University of Bordeaux and the University of Aix-Marseille. He began his career as a foreign exchange trader in the City of London before spending several years as an Economist at the Bank of England and as a Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. He later worked as a Managing Director at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, where he led the European arm of a large global macro hedge fund. Mark Taylor holds masters and doctoral degrees from Oxford University and London University.
