Pantelis Koutroumpis

Research Fellow at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group, Imperial College Business School; Fellow of the Columbia Institute of Tele-Information, Columbia Business School

An economist with a focus on telecommunications, information technology and security, Pantelis has advised major operators, governments, regulators and international organisations across the world during the past decade. He is a Research Fellow at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group of Imperial College Business School and a Fellow of the Columbia Institute of Tele-Information at Columbia Business School. He has led projects of the World Bank, the OECD, all major EU institutions, the ITU, WWW Foundation, Copenhagen Commission and others.

Pantelis has published articles in journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, Economic Policy, Telecommunications Policy, Energy Policy and the Journal of Economic Psychology. He is a member of the editorial board of Telecommunications Policy. His research has received international accolade including the 2011 Award by the Telecommunications and Public Utilities Group of the American Economic Association.

He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Imperial College London, an M.Phil. in Technology Policy from Cambridge University and an M.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He is a chartered Electrical and Computer Engineer and a Certified Information Security Manager with experience in system design and information security policies.
