Philip Ushchev

Visiting Research Fellow, Department of Economics, Monash University

Philip Ushchev is currently a visiting research fellow at the department of Economics at Monash University. He is also assistant professor at HSE University (starting September 2019). He has broad research interests, which embrace networks, applied general equilibrium (specifically, the implications of variable elasticity of substitution in macro and trade), industrial organization, and urban/spatial economics. His ongoing research covers a rich array of topics, including technology adoption, peer effects in networks, the role of word-of-mouth in entry deterrence, innovation cycles, and the origin of cities. He has a number of publications in top-field journals including Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behaviour, Journal of Urban Economics.
