Rafael Ch

PhD candidate, Politics Department, New York University

Rafael Ch is a PhD Candidate in the Politics Department at New York University (NYU). His broad research interests lie in the Political Economy of Development, as well as Political Methodology. In particular, his research focuses on how non-state armed groups and elites capture local institutions, especially in weak states and settings with internal conflicts. Prior to NYU, he served as Director of the Economic and Public Security Research Division at the Center of Research for Development, A.C. (CIDAC), and as a Visiting Professor at the Political Science Department of the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). Rafael holds a Master in Politics from NYU and a BA in Economics from ITAM.
