Sam Langfield

Principal Economist, Financial Research Division, ECB

Sam Langfield is a Principal Economist in the Financial Research Division of the European Central Bank. Previously, he worked in the European Systemic Risk Board Secretariat, where he served as Secretary to the High-Level Task Force on Safe Assets, chaired by Philip Lane, and the Advisory Scientific Committee, chaired by Marco Pagano, Richard Portes and Javier Suarez. He began his career at the UK Financial Services Authority before its merger with the Bank of England. He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
