Simone Arrigoni

PhD Candidate in Economics, Trinity College Dublin

Simone is a PhD Candidate in Economics, and he is affiliated with the IM-TCD (International Macro) research unit. His research interests lie in the area of international and empirical macroeconomics with a focus on the interplay between macroeconomic dynamics and inequality. Before joining Trinity College Dublin in 2020, Simone was first a graduate trainee and then worked as an analyst in the International Policy Analysis division at the European Central Bank. While working at the ECB he undertook research in constructing and comparing global financial condition indices and studied the role of population ageing in assessing external current account imbalances. He holds a Master's degree in Economics from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg (Germany) and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy).
