Shekhar Aiyar

Deputy Division Chief and Mission Chief for Latvia, IMF

Shekhar Aiyar is a Deputy Division Chief in the International Monetary Fund, and Mission Chief for Latvia. He has worked on the Euro Area, Thailand, Mexico, Indonesia and the Kyrgyz Republic. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Brown University, an M.A. from Oxford University and a B.A. from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. His research interests include open economy macroeconomics, international finance, growth empirics and test cricket. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, the American Economic Review, the European Economic Review, the IMF Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Growth, and Economic Policy.
