Taryn Dinkelman

Taryn Dinkelman is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at the University of Notre Dame, a Faculty Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Research Affiliate at the CEPR and BREAD. Her research focuses on labour markets in developing countries. Specifically, her work highlights the direct and indirect constraints that limit individuals and communities in developing countries from earning higher returns on labor.

Her current work examines the long run impacts of circular migration in Africa on local economic development outcomes, including education and the structure of local labour markets in migrant-sending communities. She is also working on the dynamics of diffusion of home production technologies using demographic surveillance site data from South Africa.
