Teodora Boneva

Teodora Boneva is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich. She was previously Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford and Tutorial Fellow at Hertford College. She is also Research Associate at the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), Fellow of the Jacobs Foundation Research Fellowship Program, Research Affiliate of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and Member of the CESifo Research Network and the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group. She is a Founding Member & Organizer of the Early-Career Behavioral Economics (ECBE) Conference.

Her research fields are Labor Economics and Behavioral Economics. In her current research, she investigates the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on labor market outcomes. In other work, she also investigates the role of beliefs in educational investment decisions and the role of educational interventions in fostering skills in childhood. She collects novel data and use a variety of different research methods such as field experiments and survey-based techniques to understand how we can promote skill acquisition and narrow socioeconomic gaps in educational and labor market outcomes.
