Thom Wetzer

DPhil candidate in Law and Finance, University of Oxford and Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance

Thom Wetzer is a DPhil candidate in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford and the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance, working under the supervision of Luca Enriques and Alan Morrison. His research focuses on the regulation of systemically important financial institutions (“SIFIs”), particularly global systemically important banks (“G-SIBs”), and the effects of such regulation on the (re)organisation of the banking sector and systemic risk.

Thom holds a BA(Hons) in Law and Economics from University College Utrecht (partially completed at UC Berkeley and the Berkeley School of Law), an LLB in Dutch Law from Utrecht University, and an MSc in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford. His professional experience includes work as an Intern in the Corporate/M&A team at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek (Amsterdam & New York) and as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs (London).
