Tiago Cavalcanti

Reader in Economics at University of Cambridge

Tiago V. de V. Cavalcanti, who was born in Recife, Brazil, holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Lecturer in Economics at University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of Churchill College. He taught at Universidade Nova de Lisboa from 2001 to 2003, Univerisdade Federal de Pernambuco from 2003 to 2007, and was Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University from 2005 to 2006. He was invited for academic visits at University of Illinois, Banco de Portugal and Banco Central de la Republica Argentina.

Cavalcanti's teaching and research focuses on macroeconomics, growth economic development, and inequality. His research has appeared or is forthcoming in scientific journals such as Economic Theory, European Economic Review, Journal of Mathematical Economics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, and Review of Economics and Statistics.
