Tiago Cavalcanti

Reader in Economics at University of Cambridge

Tiago  Cavalcanti, who was born in Recife, Brazil, holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Reader in Economics at University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of Trinity College at Cambridge. He also holds a visiting position at Sao Paulo Schoo of Economics at Vargas Foundation. He is currently an associate editor for Economic Journal and Economic Theory. 

Cavalcanti's teaching and research focuses on macroeconomics, economic growth and economic development. His research has appeared or is forthcoming in scientific journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Monetary Economics, Economic Journal, Economic Theory, European Economic Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Macroeconomic Dynamics, and Review of Economics and Statistics. He writes monthly for the Brazilian newspaper Valor Econômico.
