Tomaso Duso

Head of the Department Firms and Markets at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW Berlin)

Tomaso Duso is Head of the Department Firms and Markets at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and he is Professor of Empirical Industrial Economics at the Duesseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) of the Heinrich-Heine University Duesseldorf. He previously was Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna and the Humboldt University Berlin as well as Research Fellow at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB).

His research interests are in the area of applied micro-econometrics, industrial organisation, and law and economics and he mainly focuses on the evaluation and determinants of product market regulations and competition policy decisions. He advised several public bodies, such as the European Commission and the UK Competition Commission, on competition policy issues. Tomaso earned a PhD from the Humboldt University Berlin in 2002.
