Tomoaki Yamada

Professor of Economics, Meiji University

Tomoaki Yamada is a Professor of Economics at the School of Commerce, Meiji University. After graduating from St. Paul’s University, he received an MA and Ph.D. in Economics from Hitotsubashi University in 2005. Prior to his current position, he was an assistant professor at Rissho University (2006-2009) and a visiting researcher at the University College London (2015-2016). He is a member of the Econometric Society, American Economic Association, European Economic Association and Japanese Economic Association.

His research interest includes heterogeneity in macroeconomics, consumption and savings, population aging and social security system. He has published numerous papers in academic journals on these topics including Review of Economic Dynamics, International Economic Review, Scandinavian Journal of Economics and Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
