Frank van Oort

Professor of Urban and Regional Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam

Frank van Oort is Professor of Urban and Regional Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He is academic director of the Institute of Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS). He received his PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research interests revolve around issues of urban economic dynamics, regional growth, structural change, spatial structure, and technology. He is Editor of the Journal of Economic and Social Geography and the Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society. He has been involved as an external expert for Dutch Ministries, cities and regions, the European Union, and the OECD.
