Veronika Penciakova

PhD candidate in Economics, University of Maryland

Veronika Penciakova is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Maryland. Her research focuses in the areas of macroeconomics, finance, and growth. She studies how firms’ ownership and financial structures influence their investment and innovation decisions and consequently how they affect firm, sector, and aggregate outcomes. Prior to pursuing her PhD in Economics, she was a research analyst at the Brookings Institution and earned her MSc in Development Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science and BA in Economics and International Affairs at George Washington University.
