Wan-Hsin Liu is a Research Economist at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (Research Area: Knowledge Accumulation and Growth), where she also works on her doctoral thesis. Her recent research has focused on investigating the firm-level and region-level determinants of innovation and upgrading activities in China. In addition, she has carried out research on the regional distribution of higher education opportunities in China, on the repercussion impacts of outward FDI for emerging economies, and on the impacts of informal institutions for business organisation of Chinese companies.
