Alejandro Neut

Alejandro Neut is currently an Economist at the Development Centre’s Latin America and Caribbean Desk. His research interests include international finance and macroeconomic policy, especially with regard to Latin America’s development agenda. Before joining the Development Centre in September 2008, Alejandro worked at the Economic Research Department of BBVA. He was Principal Economist for the United States in New York, leading the bank’s effort in modeling the US economy for the medium and long runs. The years in New York came after an equally fruitful period in the department’s headquarters in Madrid, where he carried out macroeconomic and financial analysis for various emerging markets, focusing in markets within the Latin American region but also including other important economies such as India and China. Alejandro holds a PhD in economics from MIT, together with a public policy master and engineer degree from Universidad de Chile.
