Gregor Smith

Douglas D. Purvis Professor of Economics at Queen's University

Gregor Smith is Douglas D. Purvis Professor of Economics at Queen's University, Canada. His research is in empirical macroeconomics, international macroeconomics, and economic history. He is a past President of the Canadian Economics Association and a former Co-editor of the Journal of International Economics and of the Canadian Journal of Economics. He has held visiting appointments at Princeton University (as a Fulbright Fellow), the University of Toronto, and the University of British Columbia. He also has been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and held a Bank of Canada Research Fellowship from 2006 to 2015. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Smith received his D.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
