Hiroshi Ohashi

Professor of Economics at University Of Tokyo.

Hiroshi Ohashi is the dean of the Graduate School of Public Policy, and Professor of Economics, at the University of Tokyo. Dr. Ohashi previously taught at Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, Canada. He has been a program director and faculty fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade & Industry (RIETI), and a chief researcher at Competition Policy Research Center (CPRC) at Japan Fair Trade Commission. He is also a council member for Promotion of Regulatory Reform at the Cabinet Office of the Japanese government. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University, and a M.A. and B.A. from the University of Tokyo. His areas of research include industrial organization, competition policy, and science and technology policy. He has published at a number of academic journals, including Journal of International Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, among others. He was awarded Miyazawa Prize (Japan Fair Trade Association); Enjyoji Jiro Prize (Nikkei Newspaper); and Ishikawa Prize (Japanese Economic Association).
