Joel Stiebale is a Professor of Empirical Industrial Economics at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. He is a research fellow of the Nottingham Center for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP) and also affiliated with RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economics Research. His research interests include industrial organization and competition policy, economics of innovation, international trade and development economics. In his research projects, he investigates, among other topics, the impact of M&A, foreign direct investment and public investment incentives on market power and the volume and type of innovative activity.
