Juan Flores Zendejas is Head of the Paul Bairoch Institute of Economic History and Associate Professor at the Department of History, Economics and Society of the University of Geneva. He has worked for the Mexican Government and as external consultant to the private sector, to the Mexican Senate, and to international institutions. Flores Zendejas’ research focuses on the history of financial crises and sovereign defaults, the history of international financial organizations and the history of international monetary cooperation. He has extensively published in journals such as International Organization, European Review of Economic History, Journal of Economic History and the Economic History Review. His coedited book (with Pierre Pénet), Sovereign Debt Diplomacies: Rethinking Sovereign Debt from Colonial Empires to Hegemony was recently published by Oxford University Press.
