Silvia Merler

Silvia Merler is Affiliate Fellow at Bruegel since August 2013. Prior to that, she worked for the European Commission’s DG for Economic and Financial Affairs on financial stability issues and as Research Assistant at Bruegel. Her main research interests are in the fields of international macroeconomics and finance, monetary policy and balance of payment dynamics. She holds a Master degree in Economics and Social Sciences at Bocconi University in Milan and graduated in 2011 with a thesis on 'Current Account Imbalances within the Euro area'. She obtained a Bachelor in Economics and Social Sciences from the same university, with a thesis on 'European Neighbourhood Policy'. At present, she is also enrolled in the Master in Economics and Public Policy jointly administered by Sciences Po, Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE, in Paris.
